We got wind of some scuttlebutt out of Berkeley County that BCSO personnel are putting in some unwilling overtime to search for a female inmate mistakenly released from the jail. We are trying to get more details and will let you know when we do.
In light of recent news out of Berkeley County we have to wonder about the leadership at BCSO. Detention officers arrested for allegedly assaulting inmates, a nurse who has still not been charged for passing drugs to inmates and offering blow jobs to other inmates to cover it up, the forced retirement of a couple of high ranking members of the department, and now this. What the heck is going on out there in the sticks?
Maybe Sheriff Dewitt can ask Channel 5 for some help with this latest fiasco. They have managed to get six of their nine "Most Wanted" rounded up since Monday.
Update: The inmate mistakenly released from the Berkeley County Jail is a white female by the name of Neely Blanchard. You might remember her from this news story in May of 2013. Here is her photo. You can find her Facebook page HERE.

She has quite a few pending charges in Berkeley County. Two counts of violating a custody order, disturbing schools, conspiracy, and possession of oxycodone are the charges from May. She was apparently out on bond for a while because she was posting to her Facebook account in October.

She was charged on 19 November with a felony count of filing a false police report and given a $20,000 bond she couldn't pay. Apparently the paperwork got screwed up and she was released in error. Now BCSO is going crazy trying to track her down again.
