Normally we support those who wear the badge, but in cases of obvious and extreme abuse of power we have to call them out.
"Rudely displaying a firearm"? Wow!
Decorated Army veteran C.J. Grisham was walking in the country with his son. They were doing a ten mile hike for the son's Eagle Scout qualification. Grisham, as is his right in Texas, was carrying a rifle due to the danger from wild hogs and cougars. Apparently some citizen didn't like that and called the police. A couple of morons were dispatched to the scene.
You can watch the video and see the actions of the idiot police officers for yourself. We particularly like the comments of the Sergeant, "The law doesn't apply in this day and age" and "We are exempt from the law". We also enjoyed hearing the officers tell Grisham that citizens with firearms were simply dangerous. Well, we like it as far as it goes to costing the taxpayers of Temple, Texas a bunch of money because they hire, retain and apparently promote complete idiots. Their obvious ignorance of the law is stunning.
The department is hesitating to release the officer's video of the entire encounter, a common tactic when the officer stepped on his di...........um.......messed up.
Remember that post a few days ago where we said the members of our military and our police departments were going to have to make a decision in the very near future about following orders which violate the Constitution? It looks the cops in Temple, Texas have already made their decision. It won't end well for them.
